RESIDENTIAL MAINTENANCE · ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY
Your yard, handled.
Most homeowners don't mind yard work. They mind not having time to do it well. Riverside's residential maintenance puts a dependable crew on your property on a regular schedule, so the lawn is cut, the edges are sharp, the beds are clean and you can just enjoy being outside. And because we also build patios, walls and drainage, we notice when something needs attention before it turns into a bigger repair.

Maintaining yards across Anne Arundel County.
Lawn and bed care here is shaped by the ground and the water. A few local conditions we keep in mind:
- Mature tree canopy. Many established communities, including Severna Park, Arnold and Annapolis, have large oaks, maples and tulip poplars. Shade thins turf and fall leaf drop is heavy, so beds and lawns benefit from seasonal cleanups.
- Clay and sandy soil. Heavy clay compacts and sheds water, while sandy soil near the shoreline drains fast and can let nutrients wash through. Both change how a lawn and its beds should be cared for. Look up your own soil with the USDA Web Soil Survey.
- Waterfront and Critical Area lots. The County's Waterfront Homeowners Guide encourages native buffer plantings and limiting fertilizer and pesticide use near the water, and Critical Area rules can require an approved plan before vegetation in the Buffer is removed, even dead trees. We'll talk through the rules before any clearing, pruning or bed work close to the shoreline. Waterfront Homeowners Guide · Critical Area
- Keeping water on the property. Mulched beds, redirected downspouts and rain gardens help rain slow down and soak in instead of running to the street or creek. Anne Arundel County: Waterfront Homeowners Guide

What our clients say
“… and the entire crew at riverside were so great to work with. They gave an honest and realistic quote, were up front about the timeline to complete the project, and were so easy to get a hold of for schedule changes and updates to the project. Our yard looks great and we will definitely have Riverside do any future landscaping projects.”

My property is in the Chesapeake Bay Critical Area. Can you still maintain it?
Yes. Routine mowing and bed care are part of normal upkeep. Pruning, clearing or removing vegetation in the 100-foot Buffer is regulated and generally needs an approved plan, so we'll talk it through before touching anything near the shoreline. See the County Critical Area page.
How do you handle heavy leaf fall under mature trees?
Seasonal cleanups are part of our residential maintenance. Properties under mature oaks and maples get the most leaf drop, and we can set up cleanups as part of a plan. See our maintenance plans.
