Getting started

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. We provide free on-site assessments for all landscaping, hardscaping, drainage and maintenance projects. During the visit, we evaluate your property, discuss your goals and provide a clear, written proposal based on your needs.

How quickly can I get an estimate?

We'll get back to you quickly to schedule your free estimate.

How soon can you start?

Spring and fall book up quickly, so we recommend scheduling early when possible. Lead times depend on the season and the size of the project; we'll give you a timeline with your estimate. However, we always do our best to accommodate urgent needs or smaller projects sooner. After your quote is approved, we'll lock you into our next available opening and provide an estimated start date.

What areas do you serve?

We proudly serve clients throughout Anne Arundel County, including Davidsonville, Annapolis, Severna Park, Millersville, Crownsville, Edgewater, Gambrills, Arnold and nearby communities. If you're unsure whether we cover your location, contact us.

Do you work outside Anne Arundel County?

We serve Anne Arundel County, including Davidsonville, Annapolis, Arnold, Crofton, Edgewater and Severna Park, and we take on commercial projects in Northern Virginia. If you're somewhere else, call 443-333-3136 and we'll tell you whether we can help. Learn more: Service Areas

What should I have ready for my estimate?

Just tell us what you'd like to change and what bothers you about the space now. A few photos help, along with any plans or surveys you already have and, if you live in an HOA, a copy of its exterior guidelines. Request a free estimate online or call 443-333-3136.

Projects, timing and warranties

How long does a typical project take?

Project timelines vary based on scope, materials, weather and site conditions. Smaller jobs, like sod installation, mulching or minor repairs, move quickly, while larger projects such as patios, retaining walls, drainage systems or full landscape renovations take longer. Your free estimate includes a timeline for your project, and before any work begins we make sure you know what to expect.

Do you provide warranties?

We warranty most of our project-based work; ask about the specific warranty for your project.

Are you licensed?

Riverside Landscaping MD is a locally owned contractor, licensed, bonded and insured in Maryland (MHIC #160581).

Are you licensed, bonded and insured?

Yes. Riverside Landscaping is licensed, bonded and insured. If your HOA or property manager needs paperwork before work begins, tell us when you request your free estimate and we'll go over it with you.

Do you help with design?

Yes. We assess the property, explain your options and recommend solutions. Whether you need simple design guidance or full-scale plans, we design every project with you, from layout and materials to plant selection, then build it ourselves.

When is the best time to install a patio?

Patios and walkways can be built whenever the ground is workable, meaning not frozen or saturated, so spring, summer and fall are all good options. Spring and fall tend to book up first, so if you have a date in mind, like a party or the start of outdoor season, reach out early. Starting the conversation over the winter lets us plan the design and hold a spot on the schedule. Learn more: Hardscaping & Patios

Do I need a permit or HOA approval for my project?

It depends on the project and the property. Larger projects such as retaining walls, decks, fences and some patios can require a county permit, and many HOAs require approval before exterior changes. We'll talk through what applies to your project at your free estimate, so let us know what your HOA requires.

How do I know if I have a drainage problem?

Common signs are standing water that lingers after rain, soggy or sunken spots in the lawn, water running toward your foundation, and mulch or soil washing out of beds.
