Decorative Fieldstone Culvert Wall & Dry Creek Bed in Edgewater, MD
Fieldstone culvert & dry creek bed.
FEATURED PROJECT · EDGEWATER, MD
The project at a glance.
This Edgewater project was a decorative culvert wall built to help rainwater flow. Before, the end of the driveway culvert pipe sat exposed in a worn, eroded grass swale. We built a dry-stacked fieldstone wall, mortared where needed, around the pipe outlet, laid a river-rock dry creek bed running out from the culvert and finished the area with new mulched beds. We finished both ends of the driveway culvert: the other end, on the other side of the driveway, got a large fieldstone apron along the asphalt edge, with river rock and plantings.

A finished culvert, not an exposed pipe end.
An exposed pipe end in a worn swale looks unfinished. On this job, we finished both ends of the driveway culvert with fieldstone, river rock and new plantings.
